My Journey Continues

I am one of those people who has always worked out, primarily doing aerobic exercises in the gym and hiking for pleasure. I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu a couple of years ago, and once again I was exhilarated being outdoors. I made a promise to myself that I wanted to continue to enjoy nature and hiking for as long as possible. Last year, after returning from a trip to Guatemala, I looked at my photos and was struck by the fact that I had started looking heavy, especially in my lower body. Despite an active lifestyle, I was getting closer to 50 and had put on some pounds over the last 10 years. I also started noticing that my body was feeling stiffer when I woke up, and my left knee felt sore when I climbed down the stairs in the mornings. I began to feel that my body was aging. I had to do something about it, but I was not sure what that would be given the fact that I was already exercising and eating healthily.

I started researching on the Internet about fitness. I stumbled upon Jerzy and Aniela's Happy Body Web site. My first meeting with them opened up a whole new world for me, so I started The Happy Body program immediately. My sessions with Jerzy and Aniela were not just about physical fitness but also about spirituality, poetry, art, and books. It felt like getting an education from real gurus, truly in an Indian sense.

On the physical realm, I learned to eat right and began losing excess fat. My body started changing, and I dropped dress sizes. Above all I feel strong, energetic, and agile; no more stiffness or pain in my knees. I started exploring other physical activities that I have never done before. I even decided to try swimming lessons again, and am now learning to swim. Ten years ago I was afraid of water and gave up after one session. Plus, I started drawing and painting again, which I had not done in over 15 years. My physical and spiritual journey continues, and I have new goals to accomplish along the way
