To Stir, with Love

I went through my sixties weighing 200 pounds, forty pounds overweight. I was beginning to realize how bad my posture had been, not to mention the aches and pains.

I'm lucky I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where yoga,diets and posture classes are part of our local culture. Time was running out, as I had tried many things and I would be turning seventy in less than a year. To be blunt, I needed help big time.

I had read about The Happy Body Program in a newspaper article. Then I had a chance to buy the book, in which the program is laid out as clearly as a recipe. The very next day (December 18, 2009) I began the program.

Six months later, I had dropped 38 pounds, down to 162, and was getting progressively stronger. One year and two months have now passed. My bad posture and twisted aching body are becoming a distant memory. Friends look at me and ask, "What did you do? You look so young, you look so good."

As a restaurateur, the process to me was similar to cooking - taking the recipe that was given and making it my own, remembering as always, to stir, with love.
